Hunt, Trevor
Trevor Hunt was born in 1975. He is a member of the great Hunt Family of Fort Rupert on Vancouver Island, BC. Trevor comes from a long line of hereditary carvers and artists that have been instrumental in the survival of the Kwaguilth art form. His father is Stan Hunt, his grandfather was Henry Hunt sr. and his great-grandfather was Mungo Martin.
He began carving in 1997 under the tutelage of his father Stanley and his brother Jason. His teachers also include Tim Alfred and David Knox.
In 1994 he was chosen to be published after a nationwide search for extraordinary young artists.
Trevor lives in Fort Rupert, the traditional home of the Kwaguilth people with his wife and 3 children.
