Modeste, Gus (1976-2020)
Another friend gone way to soon!!!! We will miss you, Gus!!!!! You were the best!!!! Gus Modeste is a member of the Coast Salish First Nation. He originates from a small town on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada's Pacific Northwest Coast. He is very well known as a Artist due to his detailed carving, but also just as well for his talent for painting. His pieces are easy recognizable since he is carving out every single little detail - with very clean lines and always stunning expression, if traditional or contemporary. He is just a professional and passionate First Nations Master artist. His pieces can be found in private collections world wide. He credit's Francis Horne as his teacher. It was such a pleasure to meet Gus, he is a very gentle and friendly soul, just fun to be around.
