Pollard, Shirley

Shirley Pollard, Haida First Nation from Skidegate BC, is a member of a large Family with several generations of master carvers and had an insight into the skills of carving from a very early age. She loves and focuses on the traditional style of Argillite carving, a rock found only on the Queen Charlotte Islands. Her works portray a Haida perspective of the North West Coast Totem themes. Today her pieces are highly sought after by private collectors world wide and shown in the finest galleries on the North West Coast of British Columbia, Canada.
