Scow, Dale

Dale Scow is a member of the Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation, originating from Alert Bay, a small island off Vancouver Island, Canada’s Pacific Northwest Coast. He is following his father’s tradition. Dale took to carving naturally at age 11 and very early proved his talent for this art. He is part of a very large family or artists. His designs are colorful and easy recognizable. He loves to carve in cedar – the traditional wood used by his ancestors.
