Large Double SALMON (male following female) wall art carving by Nootka Master artist Brian Bob

Richly inlaid with Abalone, beautiful clean piece of wood. precise carving, gorgeous flow, superb craftsmanship!! The body of the salmon is inlaid with 21 pieces (!!!) of Abalone (Mother of pearl). This piece is so elegant. It's "washed/stained" in a nice blue, still showing the natural grain of the wood - it's just so beautiful. Signed at the back, carved in front, prepared for wall hanging. Just a superb example of art from the North American First Nations (Pacific Northwest).

For full disclosure: restored on the mouth of the salmon, right side, please check pictures, I'm providing close-up.

Measurements: 4 1/2 ft. / 54 1/2" x 8" x 1 1/2"

Meaning: The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations.
