Little sunshine just arrived in our Gallery...

SUN Mask by the Kwakwakaw'wakw First Nations Master Artist and Chief David Mungo Knox.

Beautiful little piece, just perfect to start a collection. The sun is carved from cedar, signed at the back. The rays are decorated with copper and the traditional cedar bark, very clean painting all around, vibrant color - just a highly decorative and authentic piece of true Indigenous Art from the First Nations of the Pacific Northwest. David is very well known all across the world and his masks are highly sought after.

Measurements: total: 23" x 21" x 3 1/2", face is 8" x 7" (59 cm x 53.5 cm x 9 cm / 20 cm x 18 cm)

I have place a standart coffee cup beside it on the last image so it's easier to visualize the size. Cup not included - unless you insist :o)

Meaning: The Sun symbolizes warmth, comfort, light and life. It owes healing powers and brings peace to the world.
