a real masterpiece. The Whale is inlaid with 8 pieces of Abalone - miniatures, but inlaid, not glued on top. A true masterpiece by SILAS COON, a member of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nations, originating from Alert Bay.
Silas over the past many years have specialized in this form of art. He's working so precise, so detailed, and he spent so many hours, months, sometimes even years on one piece until it's perfect. You won't find any flaws in his art pieces. He is well known and highly sought after around the world for his miniature pieces. They can today be seen as investment, or simply as a piece to enjoy - This little rattle looks fabulous when worn on a leather band. The colors used are vibrant blue, red, green and black with a few accents in copper color and the painting is superb. again, perfection.
