Here's another absolutely gorgeous piece of wall art by master artist Brian Bob from the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations.
Snowy Owl with Mouse man and moon
The carving is exceptional. The gorgeous wood (sitka spruce) is stained with a light white wash, accentuating the natural grain of the gorgeous, clean wood. The eyes of the Owl, mouse man and moon are inlaid with Abalone. As always, Brian's carving lines are so clean and deep - the expression, amazing! It's made and prepared for wall hanging, carved in front, easy recognizable as Brian's art - signed at the back, hanger already attached.
Disclosure: artist restoration, only visible on back and very difficult to see on the Owl's crown - I'm providing close-ups (regular prize would be $515 CAD)
Measurement: 16" x 11" x 1 1/2"
Meaning: The Owl is associated with the souls of the ancestors and are viewed with high respect. They symbolize wisdom, intuition and prophecies and sacred knowledge.
Note: USD amounts estimated based on Bank of Canada average exchange rate, updated weekly, Invoice in CAD, no overseas shipping.
