Spectacular piece by highly collectable and well known First Nation artist RAY WILLIAMS, son of Sam Williams, a member of the Nuuh-chah-nulth (Ditidath) First Nations.
Large, 29" tall Model Totem pole, extremely detailed carving
The artist must have spent month's working on this Gem! It shows superb craftsmanship, lots of patience and love for this art. The pole is showing the Eagle with the Sun above the wolf above the Whale above the frog above the bear and another frog as well as all the little spirit symbols throughout the piece. Ray used cedar and mounted the piece on a fully hand carved base.
Flaws: Minor old restoration on sun and and one wing had been glued. I'm providing close-ups of the imperfections, please have a close look. It's an old piece, dated handwritten 1974 underneath the base (I can't confirm the exact date and don't know if the artist himself wrote the date on the base)
Measurements: 29" tall, base is 6" x 6", wingspan 13 1/2" (74 cm tall, base 15 x 15 cm, wings 34.5 cm)
Note: USD amounts estimated based on Bank of Canada average exchange rate, updated weekly, Invoice in CAD, no overseas shipping
