Full 3D Sculpture, Red cedar, solid wooden RAVEN, hand carved, designed, hand painted and signed by Greg Henderson, a member of the Wei Wai Kum First Nation, Kwakwaka'wakw

This sculpture is so powerful, in painting, in expression, in posture... just so real. Greg used red cedar. The raven is standing on a wooden base, left natural. The carving of this kind is really difficult. To "catch" this strong expression out of a solid piece of wood - quite difficult. You can see the knife marks all around which shows how much work Greg put into it. 

The carving lines are very deep and clean, look at the feathers or the feet... and the face. It's painted in a deep black with purple accents. Just have a close look at the images please, I will let them speak for themself... 

Measurements: 25" tall, 11" wide, 8" deep (heavy, solid piece!)

Meaning: The Raven is known to be the transformer, trickster and creator. In the Kwakwaka'wakw culture the Raven is known as the messenger of the sky and famous for being a somewhat mischievous glutton. He's always out to please himself and to have a good time. He's very adventurous.
