Tsawout First Nation art carving - elegant, powerful and vibrant

EAGLE, hand carved wall art by our friend and artist Bear (Doug) Horne from the Coast Salish, Tsawout First Nation on Vancouver Island.

Gorgeous piece of cedar, carved in very clean and deep carving lines, showing knife marks, truly fabulous! Powerful and very clean painting in traditional yet very vibrant colors. Another piece of superb art which is easy recognizable as one of Bear's (Doug's) art. He signed it at the back, it's made and prepared for wall hanging, hanger already attached.

Measurements: 24" tall, 11" wide, 1/2" thick

Meaning: Eagles mate for life and are therefore also seen as a symbol of lasting love and dedication. It is told that the Eagle end their own life in despair when the mate is lost. Eagle feathers are used in the most important ceremonies, a display of respect, courage, Chieftainship and wisdom.
