Another gorgeous piece of Indigenous art just arrived in our Gallery:
Title: First Woman from Skies and Stars "Iig-muup"
as always, meaningful, storytelling, authentic, hand carved, hand painted and designed by this very important artist of the Native American First Nations from the Northwest Coast of Canada.
Tim mastered this art a long time ago already, but he is still always putting so much work and love into each and every piece, always telling a story. This piece depicts "The beginning: First Woman that came from the skies and the stars" in Tim's own words, written on the back of the mask.
He added a piece of crystal on each side of the crown to show the Woman's origin, her home, the material we are all made off and to where we will return.
The grain of the wood is fabulous, please have a close look at it. He carved the face so beautifully. The expression is elegant, peaceful, patient and powerful at the same time. Tim added the Eagle head at the forehead, then the whale fins around her chin to depict the wealth and importance and abundance of our beautiful earth. The blue depicts the color of the Ocean.
Very clean painting, strong colors, and the red accents, really outstanding.
