Fantastic quality - very unique piece - clearly carved by a master of this art...have a look:

Ceremonial Raven Feast Ladle on custom made cedar base

hand carved, hand painted and signed by Simon Silas James (Tanis) of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation.

The ladle is also prepared for wall display - It's a very impressive and large piece, the images don't do it justice...

These ladles are important and used in many ceremonies. As soon as the drummers are playing and the dance starts, the first dancer is coming in, carrying a rattle - and following her are dancers carrying ladles, filled with food like crabs, shells etc. - the dance ends when they are standing before the Chief, then the food will be shared with the elders and their peoples.

The carving on it is truly superb - as is the painting, very clean. The Raven, carved in 3D on the handle, what a powerful piece. The stand is custom made especially for this piece and it fit's perfectly. The piece that's holding the ladle is fitting into the carving below the Raven and holding it perfectly while the ladle itself is sitting on the beautiful, solid piece of cedar. Did you see the grain in the ladle, truly beautiful. Simon chose is carefully and you can clearly see he knows what he's doing. Please have a close look at the images I provide to appreciate the craftsmanship. Just a very special piece - you don't find these often!!!

Measurements: 27" long x 7 1/2" wide, ladle is 5" deep, the base is 20" x 8", total height of the piece when in base: 18"

Guaranteed authentic - coming directly from the artist, each piece we show is the original and it is the piece you’ll receive!
