Beautiful, Elegant!
WOLF by Indigenous artist Bear (Doug) Horne, a member of the Coast Salish/ Tsawout First Nation, coming from a large Family of artists.
This piece is so easy recognizable as Doug's artwork. Look at the carving lines and the painting, very clean, black and white. Elegant and very powerful expression. This is highly decorative and makes every room. It has been treated with Bee's wax and has a hanger already attached so all you need is a nail in your wall. Doug signed the piece in the back. I took a picture of him holding it, so it's easier to visualize the size. It's a big piece!
Measurements: 18" diameter, 1 1/2" thick
Meaning: The Wolf represents loyalty, strong family ties, good communication, education, understanding and intelligence. Of all land animals, the Wolf has the strongest supernatural powers and is the most accomplished hunter. The Wolf is a very social and communicative creature; he uses body movement, touch and sound.
