Here's another absolutely gorgeous SALMON, by Nootka Indigenous artist Brian Bob from Nanoose Bay, it's always great to see him, such a kind soul.
The carving is exceptional. The gorgeous wood (sitka spruce) is stained with blue, still showing and accentuating the natural grain of the wood. The eyes of the salmon and the eagle spirits are inlaid with Abalone. As always, Brian's carving lines are so clean and deep - close to perfection and you can clearly see his many years of experience in this craft as well as his talent. The expression, amazing! It's made and prepared for wall hanging, carved in front, signed at the back, hanger already attached.
