ATLAKUM GROUSE MASK (Winter ceremony)

with cedar  bark and feathers, by the Kwakwakaw'wakw First Nation Artist Jonathan Jacobson

What a great expression! The colors are vibrant, the painting clean and the cedar bark adorning the mask just adds to the beautiful look of it. This piece truly is impressive and it's very large and dominant. Solid red cedar.

Measurements: mask itself is 17" x 13" x 7" (43 x 33 x 18 cm) total height incl. cedar bark: 40" / 102 cm

The Grouse is a important mask and part of the Winter ceremonie. It dances around in small steps, a dance rattle in her hand, making lots of noise - then runs out of the house, just to return with each of the spirits that will participate in the ceremony.

Note: no shipping overseas available, shipping to Canada and US only
