Model Totem Pole, signed by N (Norm) Joseph

a member of the the Squamish First Nation. Very detailed and beautiful piece. Chief Joseph put a lot of work and love into this piece. It's showing the EAGLE with the SALMON and the HUMAN SPIRIT over the KILLER WHALE. Hand carved and stained and polished. Gorgeous piece to complete or add to any collection.

Measurements: 13" tall, 9 1/2" wingspan, base is 4" x 3 1/2" 

The artist: Norman Joseph was born in North Vancouver and is a member of the Squamish Nation in BC, Canada, specifically the Burrard Indian Band. He became Chief in 1967. Besides his duties as a Chief, Norman continued his family tradition of carving and teaching the art to his siblings. His nephew Paul is today considered one of the finest Master Carvers.
