SAD (Mourning) RAVEN - just an incredible expression of sadness.
by native artist Alfred Robertson from Kingcome Inlet, a member of the Kwakiulth First Nation, Northwest native American Art from the Northwest Coast at it's best. Incredible clean lines, deep cuts, stained and polished to accentuate the natural grain of the wood, made for wall hanging, signed at the back, hanger attached. A real little gem, makes a great gift!!!! AND it's so thick, it does stand by itself and looks marvelous standing on e.g. the fireplace mantle.
Measurements: 12" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/4"
Meaning: The Raven is known to be the transformer, trickster and creator. In the Kwakwaka'wakw culture the Raven is known as the messenger of the sky and famous for being a somewhat mischievous glutton. He's also known to show and feel emotions, happy and sad.
