GRIZZLY BEAR Mask

hand carved, hand painted, guaranteed authentic - fabulous craftsmanship by Coast Salish artist Randy Stiglitz, who works together with his partner Janice Morin. Both have many years of experience in this art, and both are very skilful and talented artists who are well known around the world. 

This piece of art proves the love the artist has for carving, he's paying so much attention to details, and the expression is powerful and adorable at the same time! Wood used for the mask is alder. The painting is extremely clean and close to perfection. Adorned with cedar bark rope as well as the traditional cedar bark. Prepared for wall hanging. 

Measurements: 10.5" x 8.5" x 8" 

Meaning: The Bear is a symbol for power, courage, physical strength and leadership. Warriors e.g. are known to wear bear claw necklaces which meant protection. In Haida culture the Bear is referred to as "Elder Kinsman" and was treated like a high-ranking guest.
