Male and Female Wolf with Moon

by Kwakiutl First Nation artist Sarah Daniels (nee Robertson) - originating from Kingcome Inlet, a small town on the Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia. 

Beautiful piece of pine wood, guaranteed hand carved, fully knife finished, hand painted and decorated with a thick red rope which really gives it a great frame.

Sarah carved deep lines, very clean, used traditional colors red and black - very powerful in contrast to the beautiful yellow of the pine. The knots in the wood just add some extra character - gorgeous.

Measurements: 31" x 15" x 1" (incl. cedar rope)

Made and prepared for wall hanging, signed at the back. 

Meaning: The Wolf represents loyalty, strong family ties, good communication, education, understanding and intelligence. Of all land animals, the Wolf has the strongest supernatural powers and is the most accomplished hunter. The Wolf is a very social and communicative creature; he uses body movement, touch and sound.
