Marvelous expression!!!
Hand carved wooden LOON Feast Bowl by Indigenous artists Randy Stiglitz and Janice Morin, member of the Coast Salish/Cree Nation, North American, Pacific Northwest coast.
Extremely detailed AND coming with a spoon - the spoon does have a little Loon baby sitting on it's handle - so adorable. Even the handle is inlaid with Abalone. The Loon is hand painted in very vibrant colors, - inlaid with a total of 27 (twenty-seven!) Abalone's in various sizes. So much work! Fully hand carved and sanded, truly superb craftsmanship.
Super precise carving lines, deep cuts, nice depth in bowl. Both, Randy and Janice always pay so much attention to details, it's just a pleasure to see their artwork. Hand carved, hand painted. Signed by both artists underneath
Measurements: Bowl is 18" long, 10" wide, 10" high, the spoon is 10" x 3 1/2" x 3"
Meaning: The Loon symbolizes serenity and tranquility. They teach us to listen to and learn from our dreams, because if you believe in them, the might come true and your hopes and wishes will be fulfilled.
