Beautiful piece of authentic and traditional Indigenous art
Leaping Killer Whale on red cedar by Coast Salish artist Howard LaFortune Jr.
Hand carved, polished, very clean lines, strong expression, just a gorgeous piece of Indigenous Art. Please have a close look at the cedar he used. Nice character in this piece.
Howard took a break from carving but is back, and we are very pleased and honored to present him in our native art gallery. You can clearly see that he has a lot of experience in this art. He developed his own style of carving over the years while keeping tradition and history in mind.
