What a Beauty!!!

Large Portrait Mask with Hummingbirds and Dragonflies by Janice Morin from the Cree/Salish Nation (and Partner of Randy Stiglitz/Salish) - both very successful and highly sought after First Nation artists.

The painting is extraordinary; the face shows the Dragonfly's on its forehead with Hummingbirds (Birds of Love) on each cheek.  Intense expression! The eyes are inlays with copper.  Janice adorned the face with cedar rope and black horsehair which brings out the colors even more. You can clearly see the female touch in this piece of art - done by a Indigenous artist with so many years of experience in carving and a clear love for the art.
