GRIZZLY BEAR
hand carved, hand painted, guaranteed authentic - Fabulous craftsmanship by Cree artist Janice Morin
She works together with her partner Randy Stiglitz (Coast Salish/Cree Nation). Both have many years of experience in this art, and both are very skilful and talented artists who are well known around the world. Janice carved and painted, Randy hollowed and blocked it out.
This piece of art proves the love the artist has for her art, so detailed and the expression really gorgeous!. Wood used for the mask is alder. The painting is extremely clean and close to perfection. Adorned with cedar bark rope as well as the traditional cedar bark.
Measurements: 12" x 9" x 9 1/2"
Meaning: The Bear is a symbol for power, courage, physical strength and leadership. Warrior's e.g. are known to wear bear claw necklaces which meant protection. In Haida culture the Bear is referred to as "Elder Kinsman" and was treated like a high ranking guest.
