LeBlanc, Darrell
Darrell LeBlanc was a member of the Haida Nation. He was born and raised on the Queen Charlotte Islands (now called Haida Gwaii). But most of his adult life was spend in Port Alberni, on Vancouver Island. Canada’s Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia.
Darrell had over 30 years experience of carving in both, argillite and wood. His sophisticated style, classic, elegant and clean, can be seen in both materials.
As a member of the Haida Nation, his interest in art began at a young age. Darrell was mostly noted for his traditional yellow cedar rattles, totem poles and talking sticks. He has also produced a series of limited-edition prints and today his pieces are highly sought after. Darrel sadly passed away in 2014.
