Will Wadhams, a member of the Kwakwaka’wakw Nation from Alert Bay, Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia. Will is a member of a Family of artists, well known for the carving of bowls. Signature piece is the Loon bowl - and Will is the last member of his family who is currently actively carving. And what a talent!!! It was a pleasure meeting him and we are honored to present his artwork in our Gallery:
Please have a close look at this gorgeous Seal Bowl
Fully hand carved. Guaranteed authentic. Solid piece of cedar wood. The cutting lines are very clean and very deep, the cuts on the teeth, the face and the sides of the bowl are incredibly detailed. The face of the seal has such a beautiful expression. Fully carved on both sides, Sanded, stained in dark brown, polished. Will used cedar, signed and dated underneath the bowl.
Measurements: 20" long, 8" wide and 5" high
Meaning: The Seal is a symbol for curiosity, creativity and imagination, they teach us to embrace our natural sense of explorations and playfulness. They can dive to incredible depths so are known to be fearless and agile creatures, very trusting and playful.
